Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Lead Dental Assistant (DA) to join our organization. This role combines clinical chair-side assisting with administrative responsibilities to support efficient day-to-day operations. The Lead DA will work closely with the dentist(s), dental team, and office manager to ensure high-quality patient care, smooth workflow, and well-maintained equipment and supplies.

Task, Responsibilities & Competencies:

Includes but are not limited to:


Clinical Duties (up to 4 days/week, as needed)

路 Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures.

路 Prepare and set up operatories and sterilize instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards.

路 Take and process dental radiographs.

路 Ensure patient comfort and provide post-operative instructions.

路 Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain a safe, compliant workplace environment

路 Support dental team members as needed to maintain patient flow.

路 Support the clinical operations of the mobile dental units as needed


Administrative Duties聽

路 Manage weekly equipment logs and monitor equipment performance.

路 Coordinate preventive maintenance and minor upkeep of dental equipment.

路 Assist with scheduling equipment service and repairs as needed.

路 Support reporting and documentation requirements for regulatory compliance with OSHA, TJC, CDC etc.

路 Processes and submits insurance prior authorizations promptly and accurately

路 Coordinates and tracks patient referrals to specialists; follow up to ensure completion.

路 Assists with scheduling and rescheduling patients.

路 Oversees dental supply and inventory management, and vendor communications.

路 Utilize dental software and computer systems for recordkeeping, tracking, and ordering聽

路 Participates in staff meetings, training sessions and quality improvement

路 Supports the office manager in community outreach coordination and other duties.


Required:

路 Certified/Registered Dental Assistant preferred but not required; equivalent experience will be considered. 聽Candidate must be open to taking the exam within 6 months of hire (state requirements apply).

路 Minimum of 3 years of dental background and demonstrated leadership skills are highly desired, will train the right candidate.

路 Strong knowledge of infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.

路 Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

路 Strong communication and leadership skills to support and guide the dental team.

路 Proficiency in dental software and computer knowledge a plus.

路 Up to 4 clinical days assisting chair-side as needed.

路 Dedicated administrative time as agreed upon, based on clinic needs and schedule.
