We are seeking an experienced Power Distribution Engineer to support and optimize electrical infrastructure within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This individual contributor role is responsible for the design of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems for capital projects. The schedule for this role will typically be Monday - Friday - 40 hours per week with flexibility for off-shift hours as business needs require. This position will work onsite, there is no remote work option for this role. Travel may be required only on rare occasions. 

The ideal candidate brings deep industrial experience and a strong technical foundation in power systems engineering, with the ability to lead complex electrical initiatives, support capital projects, and ensure safe, reliable plant electrical performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Approxmately 80% CapEx/new product/new process work; and 20% Electrical Maintenance work
  • Design, maintain, and improve medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems within a manufacturing facility
  • Support plant electrical infrastructure including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, breakers, VFDs, and distribution panels
  • Perform and review electrical studies including load flow, short-circuit analysis, coordination studies, and arc flash assessments
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical system issues and support rapid resolution of plant downtime events
  • Provide engineering support for capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and internal safety standards
  • Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and project teams to improve system reliability and uptime
  • Develop and update electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and documentation standards
  • Interface with utility providers and external contractors as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and energy efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with a focus on power distribution systems and equipment 
  • Strong background in medium- and low-voltage 
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Strong understanding of electrical power system fundamentals and industrial controls integration
  • Experience interpreting and developing electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in high-demand production environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure
  • Experience with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing or multi-site industrial operations
  • Strong familiarity with arc flash hazard analysis and mitigation strategies
  • Experience supporting capital projects and plant modernization initiatives
