- Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities.Â
- The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.
- Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.
- Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.
- Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.
- Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.
- Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.

- Meets minimum requirements as required by current hospital and department PRN policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.Â
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- This is a PRN position.Â
- Minimum PRN requirement is one weekend every six weeks and one holiday per year.Â
- The position is at the Parma Medical Center.
- The position will provide PTO, LOA coverage, staffing shortages and weekends.
- Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program required.
- Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program required.
- Experience in similar role to position preferred.
- Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills.Â
- Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment.Â
- Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload.Â
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio Required Upon Hire.
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Required Upon Hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification Required Upon Hire.
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Required Upon Hire.
- Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Certification Required Upon Hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire.
