The SEC Reporting Accountant will be located in our Corporate office and plays a critical role in driving the accuracy and integrity of PLP’s financial reporting. This position supports the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and PLP policies, leads the development of timely and compliant SEC filings, and conducts technical accounting research to inform high‑quality accounting policies. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX 404 requirements, and a passion for delivering clear, reliable, and insightful financial reporting.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare SEC filings (e.g., Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, 8-K, 4, and the Proxy Statement) ensuring accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Gather financial data for financial statement disclosures and assist in drafting footnotes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for both external and internal auditors, providing timely and accurate support.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new accounting standards (e.g., DISE), research US GAAP issues, and draft technical position papers.
  • Develop and update global accounting policies to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of financial accounting close activities, including month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end processes.
  • Perform key general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Support accounting and reporting for the Company’s equity compensation programs (e.g., LTIP, stock options).
  • Manage the Company’s lease portfolio, ensuring proper accounting under ASC 842. 
  • Collaborate with global subsidiaries to ensure compliance with PLP accounting policies and internal control requirements.
  • Provide ad‑hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform other finance‑related duties and special projects as requested by the PLP finance or executive team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Accounting and 2-4 years of public accounting or SEC Reporting.
  • CPA/CMA a plus, but not required.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and understanding of SEC filing requirements.
  • Solid analytical skills.
  • ERP, financial reporting and SEC reporting systems experience. 
  • Previous knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) as well as PowerBI.
  • IFS, OneStream and SEC filing software (e.g. Workiva) a plus.
  • Travel Requirements: 5%
