The team you will be a part of
The EH&S team designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations.
This role in summary
As the EHS Sr Analyst, you will lead and ensure the achievement of environmental objectives through the implementation of and compliance with Whirlpool protocols, legal requirements, management system standards, WCM methodology, and preventive activities. Reporting to the EHS Manager within the EHS department, you are responsible for understanding, complying with, and enforcing the Global EHS and Quality Policies, including the authority to report unsafe conditions and drive the plant’s quality objectives. You will lead the implementation, certification, and continuous improvement of the Whirlpool We Care Management system and possess explicit authority to halt any process posing a critical risk to employee integrity or the environment.
Your responsibilities will include
- KPI Monitoring & Environmental Targets: Monitor and measure departmental KPIs, ensuring all environmental objectives and targets are consistently met.
- WCM Environmental Pillar Leadership: Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Pillar according to WCM methodology, ensuring full alignment with its specific indicators and standards.
- Audit & Management System Leadership: Lead internal and external audits for the Management System; ensure the timely closure of all findings identified during audits, inspections, and walk-throughs.
- Corrective & Preventive Action Management: Ensure all assigned corrective and preventive actions are closed on time and in due form, exercising the authority to drive their implementation and completion.
- Protocol Implementation: Implement and manage environmental protocols in accordance with the broader corporate strategy, demanding full adherence to Management System standards and Whirlpool corporate protocols.
- Training & Education: Ensure comprehensive environmental training for all employees and contractors.
- Budget & Project Management:Â Manage and oversee the departmental budget for all environmental activities and projects.
- Compliance in Plant Changes: Ensure that all plant changes and new projects are implemented in compliance with Whirlpool standards.
- Stop-Work Authority: Utilize explicit authority to halt or suspend any activity that poses a risk to employee health and integrity or may result in a significant environmental impact.
Minimum requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of Environmental roles experience.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of environmental laws and regulations (local, state, and federal) and comprehensive knowledge of EPA requirements and environmental standards.
- Core Skills: Strategic Planning, Analytical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision-Making.
- Interpersonal Skills:Â Excellent Teamwork, Effective Communication, Proactivity, Leadership, and People Management skills.
Preferred skills and experiences
- Experience hosting and managing inspections/visits from government agencies and regulatory bodies.
- WCM ENV pillar knowledge (preferably).
- Proficiency in Google WorkspaceÂ
