TITLE: Senior Electrical Engineer – Commercial / MEP Systems

LOCATION: Middleburg Heights, OH (open to candidates within a 2-3 hour radius of Cleveland, OH, including Toledo, Dayton, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas)

TRAVEL: Up to 25% for worksite visits; remote candidates must work on-site at BG Headquarters in Middleburg Heights, OH, at least once per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the electrical design and engineering of complex commercial and institutional building projects. This position plays a critical role in developing high-quality electrical system designs that support energy efficiency, sustainability, and long-term building performance.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in MEP building systems who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact facility solutions.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead all aspects of electrical design, engineering, and specifications for assigned projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop accurate schematic design solutions for complex prospective projects within expedited timeframes.
  • Organize and manage the engineering effort required to facilitate projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Direct and oversee designers and engineers assigned to project teams.
  • Review and adjust calculations, drawings, and specifications as needed to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet schedule milestones and maintain project budgets.
  • Perform site surveys, field investigations, and equipment assessments.
  • Coordinate engineering support during construction and assist with project execution as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of project scope, engineering budgets, and construction budgets.
  • Communicate scope, budget, or schedule changes to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining drafting, design, and engineering standards.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
