MAJOR RESPONSBILITY
The Electrical & Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated production equipment and electrical systems throughout the facility. They will also play a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving operational efficiencies through automation and process improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated manufacturing equipment and production systems.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting production equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshooting PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on production equipment.
  • Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of new automated equipment and technologies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), sensors, motor controls, and HMI systems.
  • Assist in developing and implementing continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and OSHA standards.
  • Utilize maintenance software and documentation systems to record maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Support equipment upgrades, modernization efforts, and automation initiatives across the facility.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical
  • Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation, or electrical troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and manufacturing equipment.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
  • Experience working in highly automated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing concepts.
  • Experience supporting capital projects and equipment installations.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with data-driven maintenance practices and predictive maintenance technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
