University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is recruiting an Academic Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine.  We are seeing a candidate with strong clinical and teaching skills with a desire to pursue a career on the Clinician-Educator track.  Our division is a uniquely integrated clinical, basic and translational science program that includes 11 clinically active physician faculty, strong collaboration with multiple PhD faculty, and several advanced practice providers. We have an active fellowship program, several interdisciplinary programs, and ancillary support from respiratory therapists, social workers, psychologists, dieticians, and specialized nurses.

 Physician faculty are actively engaged in clinical research, basic and translational research, educational scholarship, quality improvement, and advocacy efforts locally, regionally, and nationally.  We have active ACGME accredited fellowship programs in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine and a large pediatric residency program.  The Division is home to the LeRoy Matthews Cystic Fibrosis Center, a  Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia Center, an Advanced Breathing Center for invasive and non-invasive ventilation, an Asthma Clinical and Research Center, a Pulmonary Hypertension Program, an Interstitial Lung Disease Program, an aerodigestive program in collaboration with Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Surgery, and a fully accredited Pediatric Sleep Medicine Laboratory. Faculty in the division lead several Clinical Effectiveness Teams in conjunction with the Rainbow Quality Center. We have active clinical research programs in Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, ILD, PCD, and Sleep Medicine with over 40 active clinical trials.

Duties will include:

  •         Providing inpatient and outpatient care
  •         Teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
  •         Participating in clinical research and quality improvement projects or other academic pursuits based on the candidate’s interests.  

A mentorship committee will be established to support academic development and promotion. 

Academic appointment, rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and primary board certification.



Qualifications:

  •         Excellent clinical and teaching skills
