Production Planning Coordinator

 

Reports To: Production Planning Manager

Direct Reports: None

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation Range:  $18.50 - $20.00/ hour

Position Overview: The GOAL of this position is to meet Customer Expectations of shipping every order On-Time.  In order to be successful, the employee must help guide planning, coordinate work between departments, line up work for work centers (supervisors assign the work to teams), hunt for orders if necessary, take orders to shipping, and track down cancelled or modified orders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • On time Delivery
  • This is a very measurable goal that is tracked on NSA’s Quality Objective Data Report and reviewed twice a year by management
  • Key customer accounts also grade NSA with on-time delivery through Customer Survey responses, fines, and their own metrics.

 

  • Responsible for Assisting the Order Fulfillment Manager in any capacity
    • Must be capable to run the daily production meeting if the PP Manager is not present

 

  • Responsible for Assisting the Supervisors in any capacity that will expedite the shipment of an order
    • Cutting – help with getting markers organized, filed, pulled, reviewing the “Markers NOT cut” and plan in advance to give sewing ample time… forward looking and planning
    • TSS – help line up work for each work center based on order due date and/or priority
    • TSS – Gather finished orders and take them to shipping
    • Ensure ALL invoiced orders have closed shop orders.  Review Report of Invoiced orders that have open shop orders and hand back to supervisors to have closed PROPERLY in each team.
    • Track down cancelled and/or modified orders so that unnecessary work is not performed.

Qualifications:

            Education & Certifications:  High School diploma or GED equivalent.

            Experience:  Minimum one year working in a manufacturing facility.   Proven track record of being able to get things done in an efficient and organized manner.

  • Ability to run, process and understand NSA Reports:

 

  1. Orders by WC
  2. WC capacity
  3. Open Orders by various categories
  4. Review of Daily Incoming Orders to ensure orders are entered correct

 

Physical Requirements: A lot of walking throughout the day and moving orders from cart to cart to help organize and prioritize work

Working Conditions: Typical factory environment.  Nothing hazardous that would require PPE
