Job Description

Position Summary

The Real Estate FP&A Senior Analyst is responsible for completing all required financial analysis and select reporting related to an assigned portfolio of multifamily assets located across various markets in the US and Canada. This role is resposible for being the Finance team's primary contact within the organization for financial analysis and commentary on their assigned portfolio. Areas of responsibility include forecast/budget/business plan/underwriting vs actuals analysis, liquidity forecasting, valuation and returns, and other ad hoc analysis as needed. Reporting to the FP&A Director, the position acts as the go-to resource for the Director to assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses, as well as the potential to identify opportunity to improve and streamline processes related to financial analysis and reporting.

1. Detailed preparation and analysis of monthly financial results compared to underwriting, budget, and business plan. Act as main point of contact for understanding financial results for assigned portfolio of assets in various markets, summarizing key operating and market trends and financial metrics and results to provide insight for and assist in decision making for company executives and other key stakeholders. (30%)

2. Responsible for analyzing quarterly cash flow projections and impact to valuation, returns, and future financial performance. Run financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual results) and related analysis on past and future projected performance for various stakeholders. Support the Director in the preparation of the quarterly Sector Board of Director materials, driving key decision making. (20%)

3. Assist with the annual budgeting process, communicating and coordinating with various teams across the organization to develop budgets to help drive organizational goals. (20%)

4. Responsible for the analysis on, and preparation of, the quarterly valuation file, including operating metrics used to support the reporting of the quarterly valuations. Perform analysis for executive decision support, including what-if analysis and special projects (refinancing, sales, dispositions, etc.) as needed. (15%)

5. Prepare and maintain ad hoc financial analyses associated with assigned portfolio of assets. (15%)

Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years of Financial review & analysis and accounting principles
  • Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

Licenses & Certifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Compensation

Commensurate with Experience

$93,900 - 131,460 annually
