SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for providing support to individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 •   Offer hope through connection and engagement on what is possibleÂ
•   Support individuals in connecting or reconnecting to their community and relationshipsÂ
•   Connect to and support individuals in various stages of navigation from CPEP to community, based on identified needs and Â
    requests for support
•   Provide validation and support through person centered approaches and engagementÂ
•   Advocate when requested by the individualÂ
•   Assist in the development of comfort around self-advocacy Â
•   Demonstrate personal self-help and wellness skillsÂ
•   Share known resources and knowledge on system navigationÂ
•   Serve as a mentor when appropriate on wellness and recovery Â
•   Assist in the exploration of personal goals that lead to life satisfaction Â
•   Engage in shared decision making with individuals to support voice and choice in all treatment decisionsÂ
•   Utilize evidence-based peer interventions such as Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery, Shared Decision Making,Â
    Psychiatric Advanced Directives, Building Recovery Capital, and the Eight Dimensions of Wellness
 •   Conduct informational groups for CPEP staff about the benefits of working with Peer BridgersÂ
•   Work collaboratively with the team to educate all involved on recovery, self-determination, shared decision making, dignity of risk,
    and peer valuesÂ
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
One of the following certifications through the New York Peer Specialist Certification Board (NYPSCB) or New York Certification Board (NYCB) required at hire:
New York Peer Specialist Certification Board(NYPSCB). Â Â
 •   New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS)
 •   New York Certified Peer Specialist, Provisional (NYCPS-P),
***If New York Certified Peer Specialist, Provisional (NYCPS-P), must obtain full certification within 6 months of hire date.

  •   New York Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate-Family (CRPA-F)
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate-Youth (CRPA-Y)
***If Certified Recovery Peer Advocate Provisional (CRPA-Provisional), must obtain full certification within 6 months of hire date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of and ability to navigate community resourcesÂ
•   Ability to model, facilitate, and convey the message that healing is possible and probableÂ
•   Proficiency in oral and written communication, reading comprehension, and computer literacy, including foundational knowledge ofÂ
    Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
•   Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently and as part of a teamÂ

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
