About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst to join our team in a Vision Insurance environment. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of core business applications running on AS400 (IBM iSeries) as well as modern web-based platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong manual testing experience, a solid understanding of insurance workflows, and the ability to work across legacy and web systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of AS400-based applications (green screen environment).
- Validate business workflows related to vision insurance claims, eligibility, billing, and member services.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing for both AS400 and web applications.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to create test cases, test plans, and test scenarios.
- Document and track defects using defect management tools; collaborate with developers for resolution.
- Conduct end-to-end testing across multiple systems, ensuring data integrity between AS400 and web platforms.
- Participate in UAT support and provide detailed test reports.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal quality standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, and Operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manual QA testing required.
- Hands-on experience testing AS400 (IBM iSeries) applications required.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, or similar) is required.
- Experience with web application testing (UI, functional, cross-browser).
- Strong understanding of SDLC and QA methodologies.
- Experience in writing SQL queries for backend validation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or vision insurance domain is a plus.
- Knowledge of claims processing systems and insurance workflows.
- Exposure to data validation between legacy and modern systems.
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid environments.
