Responsibilities/Qualifications

A Executive Chef/Dining Director is needed to work in our Senior Living Facility in Clinton Township, MI.

 

The Dining Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the dining operations in an assisted living facility. Our ideal director will have experience working with seniors, managing staff in a kitchen is required.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience as a Chef / Cook with current Food Services Sanitation Certificate
  • One year supervisory and management experience which may include recruiting staff, coaching performance management and responsibility of daily department operations
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours along with availability for our customers at peak service days and times

 

Essential Duties:

  • Ensures adherence to therapeutic diets, correct portioning of foods and proper serving methods
  • Ensures log books are following federal, state standards (temperature log, refrigerator log, freezer log and cleaning log)
  • Maintains cleaning schedules, in‑service training records, department communication log, vendor problem logs, department opening and closing checklists
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of food and supplies including emergency supplies
  • Partners with leadership team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies
  • Safe food handling is practiced at all times to prevent an outbreak of food borne illness
  • Ensures compliance with local health department regulations
  • Understands and manages the department budget to include labor & other expenses and its impact on the community's bottom line
  • Processes and submits monthly expenses and budget data timely
  • Coordinates with the community team to achieve cross training when applicable
