Description:

Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction over the planning and operations of the skilled nursing community that includes operating plans and related operating and capital budgets, development and implementation of standardized policies and procedures, clinical integration, property management, resident relations, marketing, community outreach, etc.

 

What you will do: 

·        Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with managers, peers, direct reports and customers by effectively fostering a team environment, building consensus and resolving conflicts.

·        Maintain department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary.

·        Provides leadership over the development of annual operating plans and related operating and capital budgets.

·        Identify financial vulnerabilities and make cost reduction recommendations as needed.

·        Ensures that all resident services are provided in a manner that supports quality of life and service excellence.

·        Provides oversight direction (in coordination with leadership) with external community-wide events to generate interest and leads for census building; works in conjunction with THSC marketing staff and internal hospitality staff to create strategies to support leads generation and census development for THSC skilled nursing community.

·        Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, THSC Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

·        Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel and discipline department staff. Supports other personnel from other departments through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence. Addresses issues of concern through courageous conversation and notifies department manager of any interactions requiring attention.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

·        Licensed Administrator in the state of Iowa

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field

·        7 years of direct supervisory experience. 3 years of experience in a supervisor capacity in a hospital and long-term care facility preferred.

·        Proven ability to develop and implement budgets as well as meeting or exceeding budget targets.

·        Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing full resident community programs.

·        Possess superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment and productivity when working with cross-functional teams, customers and end users. Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual, collaborative shared leadership environment.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system
