Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager / Engineer to lead and execute manufacturing projects from concept through completion. This role combines technical engineering expertise with project management responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role is hands on and would work closely with site leadership

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Plan, execute, and oversee manufacturing projects from initiation to completion 
  • Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans 
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and vendors 
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies 
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and leadership 

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Develop, Document, and improve manufacturing processes and systems 
  • Lead new product introduction (NPI) and process validation 
  • Optimize efficiency, quality, and cost through continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards 

BOM & system management

  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PLM/ERP systems
  •  Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure BOM accuracy on new and current product lines
  •  Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and update BOMs accordingly
  •  Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations
  •  Support new product introductions by developing initial BOMs
  •  Coordinate with suppliers for component information and updates
  •  Maintain documentation and version control for all BOMs
  •  Assist in resolving BOM-related issues during production
  •  Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to BOM processes

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related activities 
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners 
  • Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and documentation 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred and or equivalent experience 
  • 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or project management 
  • Experience managing projects in a manufacturing environment preferred 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting) 
  • Proficiency with project management tools and Excel
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and systems 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principles (preferred) 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification 
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Odoo, etc.) 

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment may spend greater than 50% of time on production floor
  • May require occasional travel to suppliers or project sites
