MercyOne Clive Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced the debilitating effects of a severe injury or illness. Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. We strive to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.

Clive, Iowa is a thriving suburb of Des Moines, known for its upscale residential areas, well-maintained landscapes, and convenient location. It serves as a central hub for the western Des Moines suburbs, situated between Urbandale, Waukee, and West Des Moines. Clive offers a blend of urban convenience and peaceful suburban living, with attractions like the Greenbelt Park and trail system, the Clive Aquatic Center, and various community events

 

How you’ll contribute

The Resource Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care through assessments, nursing interventions, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.

  • Core Focus: This role will function as a Resource Nurse. You will oversee respiratory care and outcomes alongside other measurable clinical metrics. 
  • Key Duties: Responsibilities include bedside patient care, real-time auditing and staff reeducation, working closely under the direction of the nurse manager.
  • Schedule: The schedule consists of five 8-hour shifts per week and includes a weekend rotation.
  • Staffing Flexibility: There is an expectation to cover occasional shifts as a staff nurse or Charge Nurse (CN).
  • Overtime: There is always the opportunity to pick up extra shifts above your standard FTE hours if desired.

 

Essential Functions

  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify individual care needs.
  • Initiate and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Deliver care appropriate to the condition and age of each patient.
  • Document medical necessity and nursing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for assigned patients.
  • Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for 

  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.

  • Current state license as Registered Nurse

  • CPR/BCLS certification

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS

  • CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse)

  • Rehab experience
