Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Location:Â Bethesda, MD 20814
Pay:Â $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Position:Â Full-Time
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and professional Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to a new client receiving services in Bethesda, MD.
The DSP will assist the individual with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, and overall health and well-being while promoting independence, dignity, and a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support with activities of daily living, community integration, and recreational activities.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Encourage communication, social engagement, independence, and positive interactions.
- Assist with meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, and other routine household tasks.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
- Accompany the individual to medical appointments, community outings, and scheduled activities.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication documentation in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Implement positive behavior support strategies and appropriate redirection techniques when needed.
- Complete accurate and timely progress notes, documentation, and incident reports.
- Monitor and promote the individual's health, safety, and well-being.
- Promptly report concerns, incidents, changes in condition, or other relevant matters to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- DDA Core Training
- CPR Certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens certificate
- Mandt Training certificate
- CMT (Certified Medication Technician)
- Valid Driver's License
- Dependable, compassionate, patient, and professional approach to supporting individuals with disabilities
