The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform scans for NIH researcher projects Provide expert level information and assistance on the software and hardware capabilities of the MR Provide input to decide what modifications of the unit are necessary to produce optimum image spectra and most efficient use of the scanner Perform functional MR and spectroscopic imaging studies of head Act as subject patient advocate monitoring comfort and subject cooperation with experimental protocol, physiological parameters pulsebrate, respiration, O2 saturation and length of time of research exam Perform venipuncture on infants, children and adults as indicated on the Physician orders Administer oral and intravenous contrast material prior to magnetic resonance diagnostic evaluation Provide technical advice on examination parameters Advise staff on any problems that may need attention Recognize equipment malfunctions and notify appropriate personnel in case of malfunctions 1 Schedule andor perform routine equipment maintenance functions 2 Perform regular quality assurance procedures on the scanner, data acquisition and archiving of imaging data 3 Work products and documents related to performing functional MR and spectroscopic studies of the head. Work products and documents related to performing venipuncture on patients; administer oral or intravenous contrast material prior to scans. Computer generated work including providing expertise on software and hardware capabilities; make modifications as necessary. Work products and documents related to acting as patient advocate, including monitoring comfort, cooperation, physical parameters, and length of time of exam; advise of results of examinations and provide preliminary diagnostic evaluations.
