Job description:
The Facility Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the facility. This role ensures the facility is kept in a sanitary and orderly condition by performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks across all areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. The janitor plays a critical role in promoting a clean and safe environment for employees, visitors, and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
General Cleaning:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors in all areas of the facility.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in a proper and timely manner.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces to ensure a clean appearance.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Restroom Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of all restroom facilities, ensuring supplies are stocked (toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
- Ensure restrooms are odor-free and sanitary.
Routine Inspections:
- Perform regular inspections of facility cleanliness and report any issues such as damage or necessary repairs.
- Check all cleaning equipment for functionality and report issues to the Facility Manager.
- Report safety hazards (spills, broken equipment) to the Facilities Manager immediately.
Outdoor Maintenance:
- Mow and trim grass areas.
- Spray and remove weeds.
- Remove trash and debris around premises.
- Empty outdoor trash receptacles.
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment according to established safety protocols to minimize hazards.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain a stock of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when running low.
- Safely store and handle cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Working Conditions
Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment with limited outdoor exposure. The environment includes equipment such as stamping presses, roll formers, laser cutting machines, and standard sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires repetitive use of hands (simple grasping, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs), standing, lifting, bending, twisting, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching above shoulders, and climbing.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Eye and foot protection required on the manufacturing floor. Other PPE may be required as defined by management
