Position Overview
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a school-based team in Clover, NC for the 20262027 school year.
This full-time opportunity is for a self-contained multi-categorical classroom serving elementary or middle school students, depending on district needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and creating a structured, supportive learning environment where students with diverse learning and developmental needs can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's educational goals.
Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained multi-categorical classroom.
Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
Differentiate curriculum, accommodations, and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management techniques.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, therapists, school psychologists, and families.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.
Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.
Active Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility to obtain).
Experience working in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.
Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs preferred.
Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Passion for helping students reach their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
Work Environment
