Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a school-based team in Clover, NC for the 20262027 school year.

This full-time opportunity is in a resource/inclusion setting serving elementary school students. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in both general education and specialized instructional settings while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and support staff to help students achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with each student's educational goals.

  • Provide specialized instruction and academic support in resource and inclusion classroom settings.

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum, accommodations, and instructional strategies that promote student success in the general education classroom.

  • Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management techniques.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.

  • Collaborate with administrators, therapists, school psychologists, related service providers, and families to ensure coordinated student support.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.

  • Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence, confidence, and academic growth.

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.

  • Active Special Education teaching certification required (or eligibility to obtain).

  • Experience providing services in a resource, inclusion, or collaborative classroom setting preferred.

  • Experience supporting elementary-aged students with a variety of learning disabilities and educational needs preferred.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for helping students achieve their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
