Job Duties and Responsibilities:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform initial and periodic physical examinations.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluate patient behavior and explore patient鈥檚 interpretation of health needs.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop and implement long- and short-range treatment plans with the patient and/or family.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Furnish and adjust medications according to the law and health center protocols.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Develop and maintain problem list and medical record, inclusive of physical, psychosocial, environmental, economic, and cultural factors relevant to the patient.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Counsel patients and families as to preventative care, medical problems, psychosocial problems, and use of prescribed treatment drugs.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate and consult with other health care providers, including medical consultant, regarding disease detection.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of community resources to make appropriate referrals, which will improve quality of life, e.g. Nutritional education, physical therapy, substance abuse, smoking cessation, weight loss, psychological therapy, and complementary therapies.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in medical record peer review for the purpose of quality assurance and improvement.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Act as a resource to multidisciplinary team in areas of expertise.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in continuing education programs as needed and remain up-to-date on state mandated CME credits.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain and enhance level of knowledge relative to professional practice and individual areas of interest.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Complete an accurate and comprehensive super-bill (encounter form) at the end of each patient visit.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Complete required patient chart notes within 72 hours business of every patient visit.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide a minimum average of three patient visits each hour in order to accommodate our patient base and meet the productivity expectations established by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Responsible for becoming familiar with the different types of assistance programs available to health center patients.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Report births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to government authorities.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Adhere to mandated reporting requirements of child abuse and elder abuse, including suspicion of sexual abuse.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Make house and emergency calls to attend to patients unable to visit health center when needed.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Educate patients in regards to up to date recommendations for immunizations, according to the Center for Disease Control protocols.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide after hours on call (telephone triage) five to seven days per month.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficient in quality patient relations by repeating key information to ensure accuracy, giving information clearly, concisely and calmly, offering assistance, and calling patients or guest by proper name.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficient in creating a supportive climate by allowing patient and/or family members to verbalize their concerns, providing an interpreter when appropriate and available, and concluding all interactions on a positive and encouraging note.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficient in creating positive telephone communication with patients and family when appropriate.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Interact with patients, physicians, staff, vendors, and visitors in ways that demonstrate caring and reflect the AVH mission, vision, and values.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to read, evaluate, and interpret medical reports, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume.聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Basic computer skills.
Education/Licensing/Training:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current and valid California State Physician鈥檚 license.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Board Certification in Family Practice; or, possesses knowledge and skill in family medicine comparable to other physicians practicing family medicine in the service area; or, Board Certification in other specialty care.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 If not Board Certified, must be Board Eligible and obtain Board Certification within six months of hire.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current and valid DEA license.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Current and valid C.P.R. certification.
Physical Demands:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must be able to move freely about the office and carry light loads (up to 25 pounds)
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Prolonged sitting and occasional standing required
