POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Roofer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial roofing systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This role involves working with a variety of materials and tools while performing physically demanding tasks at heights and in varying weather conditions. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivery high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Installs composite systems from start to finish
- Specializes in composite shingles and rolled roofing
- Performs carpentry repair (decking, rafters, facia board)
- Assist in tear-offs, re-roofs, and new roof installations under the direction of the Roofing Foreman
- Load, stage, and organize roofing materials safely and efficiently on job sites
- Maintain clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work areas at all times
- Perform ground and rooftop cleanup, debris removal, and material disposal following each project phase
- Support setup and breakdown of ladders, scaffolding, and safety lines
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to Empower’s safety protocols
- Assist with deck preparation, underlayment installation, and flashing placement as directed
- Deliver materials and tools to other roofing staff on elevated surfaces using approved lifting and hoisting methods
- Communicate proactively with the Roofing Foreman regarding material shortages, site hazards, or schedule updates
- Report all incidents, near misses, and safety concerns immediately to the site supervisor
- Make repairs to roofs as needed
- Respond to and investigate potential roof leaks
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the roofing industry with experience installing composite systems
- Ability to travel between project sites throughout California
- Driving is an essential function of this position. The candidate must have a valid driving license in their state of hire and must have a clean driving record that allows them to be insurable to drive for business purposes
- Must possess knowledge of residential roofing materials (composition, tile, TPO, etc)
- Experience operating roofing tools and equipment (roof cutter, compressor, nail gun)
- Familiarity with project management or CRM platforms is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
COMPENSATION:
- This is an hourly, non-exempt position. The base hourly wage for this position is expected to be between $23.00 and $26.00 per hour. Exact wage will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to work location, experience, education, certificates, and internal equity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to consistently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to be perform work standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs/ladders for the majority of the full shift (8+ hours per day)
- Must be able to work at heights (using proper fall protection PPE)
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, direct sunlight, etc.)
