Job DetailsJob Location: Brazosport - Lake Jackson, TX 77566Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Associates Degree Job Category: EducationFT Proctor Specialist – Assessment Center Job Title: Full-Time Proctor Specialist Department: Assessment Center Reports To: Senior Coordinator of Assessment Center Grade: SO6 Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Position Summary The Proctor Specialist is responsible for administering and monitoring exams in the Assessment Center while ensuring the highest level of test security and customer service. This position supports a variety of testing services for students, faculty, staff, and community members including placement exams, vendor exams, college course make-up exams, and certification/licensure tests while assisting with scheduling and training. The Proctor Specialist enforces testing policies, assists with ADA accommodations, and ensures a secure and professional testing environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Test Administration & Security (70%) Administer and monitor high-stakes and institutional exams (TSIA2, GED, ACT, CLEP, HESI, TCOLE, NHA, ASE, Pearson VUE, and other contracted exams). Verify identification, check-in examinees, and explain testing policies and procedures. Enforce test security standards and maintain confidentiality of exam materials. Collect, secure, and dispose of testing materials in compliance with vendor and institutional policies. Address and document test irregularities and incidents. Student & Faculty Support (15%) Provide clear instructions and professional customer service to students, faculty, and community members. Assist with scheduling, check-in, and testing procedures. Support accommodated testing needs in coordination with Disability Services. Recordkeeping (10%) Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of all testing sessions. Assist in preparing and providing testing data for institutional and vendor reporting, including departmental reporting and program evaluation. Ensure compliance with all vendor and institutional requirements. Collaboration & Teamwork (5%) Work collaboratively with proctoring staff and the Senior Coordinator to maintain efficient testing operations. Assist in training new staff or student workers on testing procedures. Assists with test schedules for faculty, students, and external institutions. Contribute to departmental meetings and staff development sessions. QualificationsQualifications Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in education, testing, or customer service. Prior experience in test administration or higher education preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict testing protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and community members. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of testing platforms. Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and vendor agreements. Working Conditions Office and testing environment in a community college setting. Frequent interaction with students, faculty, staff, and testing vendors. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during peak testing periods. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while monitoring test sessions. Frequent movement between testing rooms.
