Position Title	HVAC Helper

Functionally Reports into	Superintendent

JOB OBJECTIVE  

The HVAC Helper will assist HVAC Technicians in installing, repairing, and maintain heating, ventilations, and air conditioning systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assist with the installation of ductwork, including measuring, cutting, and sealing ducts, as well as supporting the installation of grilles, diffusers, and registers.
Clean up job sites after work is completed, ensuring that all waste and debris are properly disposed.
Assist in documenting work performed, including service reports, equipment specifications, and any necessary records.
Serves to advice foreman and employees of possible safety hazards, assists in all supervision, and maintains a safe work environment.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and answering basic questions regarding the work being performed.
Assist in routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, changing filters, and lubricating moving parts, to ensure efficient operation.
Install insulation materials to protect and improve the energy efficiency of the HVAC systems.

EXPERIENCE

Must have 0-2 years as an apprentice/helper in HVAC field.
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS  

High School Diploma or Equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting. 
Will talk and hear to communicate. 
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull:  objects, materials, controls, and tools. 
May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. 
Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
