Job DetailsJob Location: Coal County General Hospital - Coalgate, OK 74538Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayPosition Summary The Physician provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care across multiple care settings, including a critical access hospital, a long-term care facility, and outpatient clinics. The role includes diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, coordinating care, supervising mid-level providers as appropriate, and participating in quality improvement and compliance initiatives. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care in the CAH, LTC facility, and outpatient clinics. Perform medical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, including stabilization and emergency interventions in the CAH setting. Conduct rounds at the LTC facility and coordinate care plans with nursing and ancillary staff. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists, social workers, and other providers. Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and residents (if applicable). Maintain accurate, timely medical records in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. Participate in hospital, clinic, and LTC quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including CMS, HIPAA, and Joint Commission requirements. Maintain ongoing professional development and board certification. Provide on-call coverage as assigned, including telemedicine or in-person consults. Qualificationsualifications Education & Licensure Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Active, unrestricted state medical license(s) in Oklahoma. DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances. Experience Experience in rural healthcare, CAH, or multi-facility practice preferred. Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings. Strong understanding of clinical documentation and regulatory compliance. Skills & Competencies Excellent clinical knowledge and decision-making abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patients, families, and staff. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Commitment to patient safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
