Job Summary:

The Operations Supervisor oversees and organizes labor, equipment, materials, and processes on the production floor. Responsible for completing the production plan for the shift and routine production activities, as well as acting as first-line troubleshooting should problems arise.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for hourly company employees and temp work force.   

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Comply with health and safety rules and follow all safety policies, procedures, regulations, and work methods. 
  • Promptly reports injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment. 
  • Make practical safety suggestions to support continuous safety improvement. 
  • Responsible for food safety; by following and enforcing the GMP’s and food safety procedures. 
  • Responsible for promoting the production of high-quality products. 
  • Focus on teaching and driving Lean Manufacturing principles of “elimination of waste.” 
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and driving continuous improvement. 
  • Provide Summary production Key Performance Indicators and reports at the end of the shift. 
  • Communicate with Maintenance any issues related to equipment performance. 
  • Communicate with Sourcing and Procurement any issues related to materials quality.   
  • Proactively communicate with HR any personnel needs, training, and progressive discipline needs.  
  • Participate in business meetings and activities with a teamwork mindset to promote continuous improvement.   
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing employees and creating a cross-functional environment. 
  • Maintain Constant Communication with Farm Labor Contractor.  
  • Provide status reports to the direct operations manager. 
  • Verify, Edit and approved company employee timecards.
  • Track development milestones to meet set deadlines.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.  

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within a production/product management capacity.
  • Ag and Food Processing experience.
  • Experience in managing time and actions and managing product cycle.
  • Proficient in PC applications, especially MS Excel, and ERP. 
  • Ability to manage a team efficiently and effectively.
  • Spanish required

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
