JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Support Worker (Social Services) provides clerical and administrative support to the Social Services Department. This position supports daily operations, assists with client-facing administrative needs, and ensures accurate and confidential recordkeeping. The role works closely with program staff to support service delivery, outreach efforts, and departmental coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and document preparation for Social Services programs
- Answer phones, greet clients and visitors, and provide front desk coverage in a professional and culturally sensitive manner
- Schedule client appointments, meetings, and program activities
- Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, and program materials
- Maintain organized and confidential client files, both electronic and physical, in accordance with program requirements
- Assist with intake documentation, application processing, and general program support
- Support coordination of outreach events, community meetings, and program activities
- Coordinate transportation resources for clients as needed
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of discretion and professionalism
- Support multiple program areas within Social Services as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a client-service environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel as required
- Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
