SUMMARY: Responsible for providing spa guests with skin and facial services and treatments that improve the guest’s overall sense of well-being in a relaxed and stress-free environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Interacts effectively with the public and Team Members. Performs excellent guest service at all times. Greets and services spa guests in a friendly and professional manner. Performs skin care consultations and offers guidance to guests in selecting appropriate skin treatments. Provides individualized skin and facial services and treatments that meet the guest’s needs and expectations. Performs various types of facial treatments including facial peels, microdermabrasion and related services. Administers skin conditioning treatments, including, but no limited to, alcohol rubs, body wraps, scrubs and masks, hydrotherapy, dry heat and cold therapy. Explains all Spa products, services, and treatments to guests and assist them with determining their individual needs. Promotes and sells skin and facial products, services and treatments and encourages repeat business. Maintains Spa appearance and cleanliness. Inspects work areas routinely for cleaning needs, defective materials, and potential safety hazards; notifies appropriate person(s) for proper resolution/dispensation. Maintains adequate inventory of linens, cleansers, lotions, creams, gels, scrubs, masks and solutions; places orders and re-stocks supplies as necessary. Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record. Performs any reasonable request made by management. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Graduate of an accredited cosmetology school. Two years experience as an esthetician required, preferably in a salon, spa or resort setting. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Current Esthetician California Certification/License required and must be maintained during length of employment. Must have specific training in facial and body waxing. Must be able to handle clients in difficult situations. Must be enthusiastic, energetic, personable, and friendly, as well as passionate, intelligent, and knowledgeable regarding the spa industry. Must have effective communication skills and be computer literate. Must have superior guest service skills and the ability to maintain confidential information due to the close contact with guests. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and other team members. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
