About the position: 

We are presently seeking Line Mechanic-Hot Stick for anticipated openings in the Albany, NY area. In addition to a starting wage of $59.64 per hour, we offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation, tuition assistance and more.

 

Under direct supervision, to do all types of work involved in the construction, rearrangement, operation and maintenance of either transmission or distribution circuits which require the use of a complete set of hot line tools.

Perform all the duties of a Line Mechanic C as required.

Job Qualifications: 

  • Must be a qualified Journeyman Lineman with a minimum of at least five and half years experience as a lineman (may need to provide proof with journeyman card)
  • Must have successfully completed the Company prescribed training and have qualified in the use of a complete set of hot line tools.
  • Must pass physical abilities examination;
  • Must pass validated aptitude test.
  • Must have CDL A
  • A good knowledge of the transmission and distribution systems in the area to which the employee is assigned.
  • Ability and willingness to work around hazardous/heavy equipment and energized electrical equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Company safety rules and federal, state and local regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and remote job sites.
  • Ability and willingness to work different schedules, on holidays and weekends and overtime as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including all weather conditions, at elevated heights (above 30 feet) and in confined spaces.

NOTE: In accordance with the Labor Agreement extension, this position is eligible to be classified as a Day Worker or Scheduled Worker.

Salary:

  • $59.64/Hr
