Salary range: $51,042 - $63,809
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum of three years’ experience with preparing journal entries, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience in government accounting preferred.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices including GAAP and GASB.
- Knowledge of accounting software systems
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Mathematical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public
- Ability to effectively and efficiently deal with contractors, vendors, other departments and fellow workers.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Interacts and works with Assistant Director of Finance - Controller, other Finance staff, City employees, auditors and members of the general public
