Job Summary

Leonardo DRS in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Associate Security Specialist to support routine administration of the DoD/DoE industrial security program, ensuring compliance with government and company requirements. This role includes assisting with day-to-day security operations such as facility access, clearances, courier/package and document handling, briefings/debriefings, and proper destruction of classified materials, while offering an excellent opportunity for training, professional development, and career advancement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with and executes administration of routine aspects of the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy, (DoE) or other industrial security program to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures
  • Conduct typical security operations to include physical access to buildings, room, couriers, clearances, packages, documentation and debriefings
  • Monitor security procedures; ensures compliance with all aspects of the program including personnel, physical and administrative security systems and procedures
  • May conduct security briefings and maintains security education programs
  • Assist in gathering information for investigations into losses and security violations
  • Ensure destruction of classified and/or confidential information in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Read, understand and follow security department procedures 
  • Assist in revision of procedures manuals and may interface with outside agencies

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent industrial or physical security training
  • 1+ years experience working in a corporate environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with peers and other DRS functions
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
  • Must be able to interpret current government regulations and procedures
  • Must have the ability to work well with customers, peers, and management
  • Must have good time management skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and SharePoint

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
