Doyles Sheehan is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented leader to oversee our field merchandising and store environment strategy. This Exempt role, reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Relations, combines technical execution with strategic management of field merchandising, ensuring that the merchandising strategies align with overall company goals and enhance the customer experience in stores.


The Role: Leadership in Motion

As the Store Development Manager, you are the bridge between corporate strategy and field executionYou will lead a team of 10+ direct reports, including both Store Development staff and Merchandisers.

  • Strategic Merchandising: Develop and implement standards to ensure consistent product placement and brand representation across all assigned locations, which will help improve customer experience and drive sales performance.

  • Team Management: Directly manage, coach, and mentor your team to enhance professional development.

  • Project Oversight: Supervise product settings, store resets, and equipment installations to ensure they meet company and customer standards.

  • Relationship Building: Maintain professional relationships with store personnel and management to achieve departmental goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure planogram compliance and maintain shelving units to facilitate effective resets.


Work Environment & Travel

  • High Mobility: This position requires 50% overnight travel to supervise field projects.

  • Flexible Schedule: While typically involving daytime shifts, additional hours beyond 4:00 PM are expected to meet project deadlines and business needs.

  • Physical Demands: You must be able to stand or walk for up to 12 hours in a retail environment and regularly lift 50+ pounds to move displays or stock.


Qualifications for Success

  • Proven Leadership: 3-4 years of supervisory experience leading a team of more than five people.

  • Industry Expertise: 3-4 years of experience in a technical or sales-related field, preferably within the grocery or c-store sector.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows (Excel, Word) and the ability to organize and assemble items according to complex instructions.

  • Professional Standards: A clean driving record with proof of insurability and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in the field.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED requiredA Bachelors Degree in a Business Related field is preferred.

  • Bonus Skills: Experience with minor electrical or plumbing work is a significant plus.
