Citizens Health is recruiting a Utilization Review Coordinator to work full-time in our hospital.

Location: 1525 S Franklin Ave, Colby, Kansas

 

Position Information:  The Utilization Review Coordinator ensures the utilization review function of the hospital is carried out as required.


Pay Range:  dependent upon experience.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct Utilization Review activities.
  • Ensure overall Utilization Review function of the hospital is carried out as required.
  • Obtain certification of patients, as required.
  • Coordinate Quality Assessment and Risk Management program within the department.
  • Provide educational training to staff.
  • Continue professional growth and development.  

What you bring to the table:

  • Education requirements: Associate degree in Medical Record Science or graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience requirements: Minimum of two years in the Health Information Department or as a registered nurse. Utilization Review experience preferred. Proficient in medical record review.  Knowledge of CMS Prospective Payment System. Must be knowledgeable in use of computer terminals and/or personal computers.
  • Licensing, certification, requirements: Current licensure with the Kansas Board of Nursing Examiners or ART.
  • Experience in office productivity software (email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.).

Typical Working Conditions: 

Works in well-lighted and well-ventilated office.  Requires constant concentration, tolerance of low level noise and numerous interruptions.  Must have good communication skills for interaction with all other hospital departments, patients and their families.  This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

 

Typical Physical Demands:

Extended periods of sitting to complete tasks. Walking to meet with and assist patients and families..
