The Youth Development Centers are an integral part of the juvenile justice continuum that serves adjudicated youth in a safe and secure environment. The youth development centers provide a variety of services and programs that are tailored to meet the needs of each youth and to engage youth in positive youth development through a strength-based approach.

The primary purpose of the Business Officer position is to administer and manage the business and financial affairs of a youth development center. Position facilitates and manages financial resources that may be state appropriated, contract and grant, and/or receipt generated. Position performs financial and business-related duties associated with such areas as accounting, budgeting, auditing, and/or grants administration.

Position functions may include but are not limited to financial management, personnel administration/management, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, facilities coordination/planning information technology assessment/and closely related work.

This position will have direct supervision over Administrative Staff and the Food Service Manager. The position has full responsibility for the development, counsel, discipline, and evaluation performance of direct report employees.

  • Demonstrated experience supervising a team of employees

  • Demonstrated experience communicating with staff at all levels to provide expectations that align with agency core values.

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position. Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role,
