We are a world leader in the production, development and sustainable supply of tantalum for a range of industries. This position will provide mechanical maintenance support for the site. Position will perform welding, steel fabrication, pipe ļ¬tting, millwright, rigging, pump rebuilding and other general mechanical troubleshooting tasks. Position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area. Essential Functions ~Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) policies and procedures. Responsible for the completion of Hot Work, Line Break, Lock, Tag & Try, contractor work permits and other SH&E permits. Maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment. ~Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. Complete necessary forms, charts, etc. to document the process. Respond appropriately to process variations. ~Ability to safely work with hazardous materials. ~Daily inspection of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment as needed and perform preventative maintenance. ~Ability to work in a team environment and move to where the work is required. Train co-workers on job tasks as required ~Perform housekeeping and 5S. Operate forklift and other motorized transportation equipment as necessary. ~Communicate the status of the operation to the shift following. Report to work station on time in order to receive operation status from previous shift. ~Participate in safety eļ¬orts (VPP, JHAs, etc.) and CIP teams Qualifications~Maintenance Journeyworker certiļ¬cation (required)** ~Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions and work safely. ~Initiative to begin, take control, and compete projects ~Strong communication skills with various levels ~Willingness to participate on teams ~Ability to plan activities ~Strong recall of written and verbal directions ~Strong ability to follow precise standards ~Strong experience in the following areas: welding, steel fabrication, pipe ļ¬tting, millwright, rigging,and pump rebuilding. ~Knowledge of computers, PLC operations, ability to read work instructions and P&ID's (required)Previous manufacturing experience in a chemical plant (preferred) ~Proļ¬ciency in basic PC navigation and PLC operation (required) Applicants will be required to take an online test to demonstrate their current level of proļ¬ciency as a mechanic. Ā ***The company will consider candidates without Journeyworker credentials with the following requirement: the employee agrees and understands that they are required and responsible to attend classes and receive their Journeyworker status within 4 years of being hired in this position. **On-the-job training provided. Our State-Approved Apprenticeship Program pays for all tuition and books in order to get your Journeyworker Certification.** Applicants will be required to take an online test to demonstrate their current level of proficiency as a mechanic. **The employee entering this program must agree to remain an employee of GAM for a minimum of two years after completion of training and if they resign within two years of completing training, they will be required to reimburse GAM for all tuition fees.
