JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of equipment and machinery maintenance schedules, repairs, and inventory. This role will partner with vendors and suppliers to ensure necessary supplies are ordered and received in a timely manner and may conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment to identify any defects or malfunctions that require attention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain records of equipment and facilities
- Perform routine inspections and repairs
- Order and stock maintenance supplies
- Schedule and oversee maintenance contractors
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff members
- Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations, and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA
- Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 2 years of clerical or related experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Quick and accurate data entry skills
- General knowledge of maintenance processes
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, overtime, and weekends as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 75 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. frequently
- Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
- Ability to use vibration producing tools frequently
- Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing/walking/sitting
- Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces
