Job Description Summary
Organizational Summary:The Department of Accounting & Information Assurance (AIA) at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park seeks to hire Non-Tenure Professional Track Faculty. Rank is open. The appointments will be at the level of lecturer, Professor of the Practice, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Full Professor depending on experience and qualifications. The starting date will be August 2026. Applicants are expected to develop and teach high quality courses — both in person and online — to students in our undergraduate, specialty accounting masters, MBA, and executive education programs, to engage with the appropriate business communities, and to help with aspects of program administration such as admissions, student advising, and placement. The mix of these responsibilities differs across the ranks and can vary over time. Candidates for the Professor of the Practice position are expected to have the greatest external visibility. Candidates for the Lecturer position are expected to have a primary focus on course delivery and development. Candidates for Clinical positions share the core duties of lecturers but also take on expanded service commitments.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates for the Professor of Practice position should additionally have a record of extensive accomplishment in business. Candidates for the Clinical Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor positions must have a Ph.D. (or terminal degree in a related field). The ideal candidate for Lecturer will have a terminal degree in a related field (Ph.D. is preferable) with relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. Prior successful teaching in a top ranked business school is preferred, and experience in senior corporate leadership roles will also be valued.
