Red River Technology is seeking a highly skilled and mission‑driven Cybersecurity professional to support a critical U.S. Navy program. In this role, you will contribute directly to an initiative that strengthens national security and enhances operational readiness across the entire Naval Fleet.Ā 

As part of our team, you will playĀ a central roleĀ in securing Navy combat system environments across the full technical spectrum, including hardware and embedded systems, network infrastructure, platform services, identity management, and application layers.Ā 

This engineering‑focused positionĀ is responsible forĀ designing, implementing, and hardening secure system architectures within complex, mission‑critical environments. You will help ensure that Navy systemsĀ remainĀ resilient, protected, and ready to support the fleet’s most demanding operational needs.Ā Ā 

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

Ā Ā 

  • Engineer and implement security controls across system infrastructure including:Ā 

  • Compute (bare metal, virtualized, containerized)Ā 

  • Network (switching, routing, segmentation, firewalls)Ā 

  • Storage systemsĀ 

  • Identity and access managementĀ 

  • Operating systems (Linux/Windows)Ā 

  • Application configuration and middlewareĀ 

  • Support secure system architecture design for Navy combat and mission systems.Ā 

  • Harden systemsĀ in accordance withĀ DoD and Navy security requirements.Ā 

  • Conduct technical vulnerability analysis and remediation across infrastructure components.Ā 

  • Support integration of security tools (EDR, SIEM feeds, logging pipelines, endpoint hardening, etc.).Ā 

  • Collaborate with system engineers,Ā DevSecOpsĀ teams, and platform architects to embed security into system design.Ā 

  • Evaluate supply chain and hardware security considerations for deployed systems.Ā 

  • Support cybersecurity risk reduction in rapid prototyping and iterative OTA environments.Ā

Required QualificationsĀ 

Ā Ā 

  • Active Secret Clearance.Ā 

  • 3–5 years of cybersecurity engineering experience in DoD or similarly regulated environments.Ā 

  • Experience securing infrastructure across multiple layers of the technical stack.Ā 

  • Hands-on experience with:Ā 

  • Network architecture and segmentationĀ 

  • Windows and/or Linux hardeningĀ 

  • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.)Ā 

  • Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes preferred)Ā 

  • Identity solutions (Active Directory, PKI, RBAC models)Ā 

  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and remediation in operational environments.Ā 

  • Experience collaborating with infrastructure, systems, and software engineering teams.Ā 

  • Understanding ofĀ secure configuration baselines and system hardening practices.Ā

Preferred QualificationsĀ 

Ā Ā 

  • Experience supporting Navy combat systems or shipboard systems.Ā 

  • Familiarity with programs under Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS).Ā 

  • Experience with tactical networks, C4I systems, or weapons systems infrastructure.Ā 

  • DevSecOpsĀ or CI/CD security integration experience.Ā 

  • Knowledge of embedded systems or hardware-level security considerations.Ā 

  • Security+, CISSP, or comparable DoD 8570/8140 certification.Ā
