Job Description Summary
The Financial Specialist will be responsible for administering sponsored and non-sponsored project accounts for the ECE Department, including account reconciliation, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and initiating corrective actions as appropriate. The Financial Specialist will interface with the ECE business office, finance team, and payroll team, as well as PIs and other researchers, to conduct assigned duties. The Financial Specialist will manage proposal submissions in conjunction with PIs and central offices. The Financial Specialist will also be responsible for other finance-related activities. A successful candidate must be enthusiastic, positive, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have a demonstrated ability to take initiative.The A. Physical Demands:
Primarily, sedentary work is performed in an office environment, requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards for extended periods. Ability to review, prepare, and analyze data and figures, transcribe, and engage in extensive reading of materials and computer screens. Ability to traverse short/long distances on and off campus to attend meetings and events.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Three (3) years of professional grants, finance, or accounting experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of grants related policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.Additional Job Details
