Organizational Summary StatementPosition Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Travel & Card Services Coordinator ensures the travel and procurement card programs are administered in compliance with University, University System of Maryland, and State policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will review and sign contracts for UMD events, hosting, catering and travel under the existing threshold for Travel and Card Services and work closely with Procurement and Office of General Counsel staff. The Coordinator will troubleshoot travel and procurement card issues with the respective banks, travel agency, travelers and cardholders. Additionally, this role will respond to, and resolve, ServiceNow tickets related to travel, hosting, UMD credit cards, provide support with creating new purchasing card accounts, maintaining existing accounts for travel and procurement cards. The Coordinator will assist with training and respond to customer inquiries during open office hours, ServiceNow tickets and other forms of communications.

The Department of Procurement & Business Services is responsible for providing procurement services to UMD, the University System of Maryland Office, and Universities at Shady Grove. Additionally, the Construction and Facilities Procurement area provides capital construction procurement and contract administration services to its service center locations, institutions, including Bowie State University, Frostburg State University, Salisbury State University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, The Universities at Shady Grove, Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, and University of Maryland Global Campus.
Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other office items and boxed paperwork short distances within the department. Also the ability to either walk or coordinate with UMD public transportation to and from the specified parking garage should campus vehicle parking be needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional procurement, finance, or accounting experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of procurement related policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Additional Job Details
Preferences
Three years’ experience with an organizational credit card and travel program is preferred.
