Job Description Summary

The MathQuantum RTG (Research Training Group) seeks to hire a postdoctoral fellow working at the intersection of mathematics and quantum information science (QIS). MathQuantum is a community of faculty, postdocs, graduate students, undergraduate students, and high school students working on various research problems at the intersection of mathematics and quantum information science.

Fellows are assigned a general faculty mentor to help navigate their postdoctoral activities, and are expected to engage with one or more UMD faculty (including the MathQuantum RTG senior scientists, https://mathquantum.umd.edu/people/). In collaboration with these faculty, fellows are expected to identify open research questions at the intersection of mathematics and QIS, and come up with creative approaches to address these questions.

Teaching: In addition to research activities, there is a teaching load of 3 classes per year of tenure in the Department of Mathematics (e.g. 1 class in Fall and 2 classes in Spring, or 2 classes in Fall and 1 class in Spring).
