We are looking for a remote聽Scientific Programmer.

KEY DUTIES

路 Work with NOAA government staff to coordinate science products, algorithm integration, and science processing for the next generation NOAA weather satellites using industry standard software engineering techniques.

路 Code, test, and document interfaces of moderate to high complexity.

路 Support science algorithm integration and research-to-operation efforts.

**Must be able to obtain a security clearance**

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

路 2+ years of experience in C/C++

路 2+ years of knowledge of Unix/Linux

路 Experience with Python, Perl, or Shell Scripting

DESIRED SKILLS

路 Experience with inter-operability between Fortran 90/95 and C/C++

路 Skilled at finding, identifying the cause of, and resolving bugs and anomalies

路 Experience with CM tools such as Git and GitLab

路 Experience with container operations (preferably Docker)

路 Experience with real-time and off-line processing of satellite data, science algorithm development.

路 Familiarity with scientific data formats such as HDF and netCDF

路 Experience processing and managing large volumes of data

路 Previous integration experience

路 Teamwork, strong inter-personal skills

路 Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.


EDUCATION

路 BS or greater degree with formal course work in physics, mathematics and computer programming

路 Educational background or experience in satellites and remote sensing
