Job DetailsJob Location: Cavalry Court - College Station, TX 77840Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: SalesJOB SUMMARY:    To provide the best service in the industry to our in-house groups.  Creatively upsell all hotel customers and to ensure that value paid is value received, not only in product, but in service and in ambiance.               Physical Requirements:   Standing/Walking:  Constantly. Conduct tours of hotel meeting space, rooms, obtaining information, relaying information, walk approximately 3 miles daily.  Crouching: Occasionally. Lifting luggage, boxes, sales material, returning files to lower file drawers Twisting: Frequently. Driving, personal/phone conversations Handling: Frequently. Phone, papers, files, pen, pencils, keyboards, passing out data Grasping: Occasionally. Steering wheel, opening doors, handshakes   Working Environment:   Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions   Interior of hotel, in normal office conditions.        DUTIES & FUNCTIONS: Essential Functions:      Provide conference services for majority of in-house conventions.   Maximize Catering revenues from convention groups wherever possible and minimize erosion of check averages from price-sensitive groups.  Communication of function-arrangement to all responsible hotel departments.   Communicate with clients prior to conventions to initiate, negotiate, and close contracts for all catered functions.   Creation of profitable menus and distribution of client expectations to Food & Beverage Departments.   Coordinate Catering support services (flowers, entertainment, decoration, A/V, etc.) to provide complete client satisfaction.   Physically double-check all function arrangements against specifications of client. Correct where necessary.   Solicit spin-off catering events from conventions based at competing hotels.   Solicitation of direct-selling in the local, social Catering market   Research and cost out new menu items, assist rooms salespersons in closing contracts.   Client contract and effective communication to ensure repeat bookings.   Update and increase client prospects in the Account Coverage Program.   Maximize revenues for the hotel through upselling techniques.   Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales and Marketing.   Shows the clients the hotel facilities by conducting tours of the property Meets budget and booking goals Should have a basic knowledge of local and national trends regarding catering trends Follow up promptly on leads Block meeting space and sleeping rooms accurately in Delphi Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports put out by DOSM Relentlessly train and motivate customer service employees Maintain integrity of cost controls and proper maintenance of assets Any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To join our team as a Catering Coordinator, you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English Prior administrative, sales, hospitality, or comparable experience required Detail oriented, organized and able to thrive in fast paced environment to meet specific deadlines The ability to act independently with minimal supervision Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written to be able to connect with our guest and team members.
