POSITION PROFILE
Supervise and assist the banquet staff to execute flawless events for our guests. Guest satisfaction revolves around the overall presentation, timing, and service of each function. Be responsible for daily setup and execution according to BEO requirements. Prepare and organize BEOs according to production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Supervise banquet staff to ensure consistent quality service, following BEOs, recipes, and timelines.
- Guest satisfaction revolves around the overall presentation, timing, and service of each function.
- Prep all banquet items on carts according to the BEO, ensuring proper amounts and quality standards.
- Tracking all the multiple events and easily assembling them to the BEO.
- Date and label all banquet equipment and rotate stock according to the SOP, ensuring all carts meet proper standards.
- Check pars on product needs for upcoming events, write prep lists and plan the building of BEOs 3 days in advance for all components of each banquet. Plan ahead and communicate needs well in advance of events to prevent day-of challenges.
- Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping banquet storage stocked, clean, and organized.
- Return all equipment not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/store all perishables.
- Assist in planning the daily family meal for both meal periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High school education or equivalent experience. Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
- 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
- Strong knowledge of operating industrial sized ovens and cooking ranges.
- Possess knowledge of preparing different types of cuisines, relishes, soups and salads.
- Have a basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills. Understand and knowledgeable of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and carry containers loaded with food and liquids.
- Able to read, speak and understand English.
- Â Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
- Stand continuously for long periods of time.
- Lift, pull, push, bend, and move items to support the hotel and outlets
