Position Information

Performs skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research. Plans and directs certain phases in a research project.

Responsibilities
-Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins. Cloning and expression of proteins of interest. Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.

-Conducting High Throughput Screening using EchoMS and Plate Readers.

-Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.

-Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.

-Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.

-Assists with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.-Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records.

-Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or closely related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Cloning and expression of proteins.

High Throughput Screening.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Good interpersonal skills, professionalism and competency.

Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
