Job Purpose

EnerSys Delaware Inc.’s Suwanee/Norcross, Georgia, office seeks a Plant Controller/Accountant to be responsible for directing the financial activities of the plant in compliance with Corporate policies and Accounting guidelines. Will provide data and input to guide management in making strategic financial and operational decisions as well as establish and monitor internal controls in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Corporate guidelines and financial audits. This is a top on-site accounting position with matrix reporting to the Plant Manager and to the Americas Accounting Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Providing management with accurate financial information to measure and guide plant operations.
  • Using data and reporting tools to suggest strategies to minimize costs, improving departmental productivity and plant efficiency.
  • Collaborating with and presenting information to managers and corporate executives in different business units.
  • Issuing plant financial statements, overseeing closing of the books on a monthly basis and annual basis, and conducting analysis to explain variance against forecast.
  • Overseeing general ledger activities including payroll, expense, account reconciliation and variance analysis.
  • Overseeing and preparing the annual plant budget as well as monthly forecasts. 

 

This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position within the United States, but the employee must live within commuting distance of the office in Suwanee/Norcross, Georgia. 

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.

 

Experience must include two (2) years working with:

  • Conducting variance & trend analysis to identify and explain variations against forecast.
  • Manufacturing accounting.
  • Intercompany accounting.
  • Working cross-functionally.
  • Working with non-U.S. based subsidiaries.
  • Performing reporting & analysis utilizing Syteline, SAP and HFM.
  • Data analytics and drawing concise insights from large sets of data.
  • Supporting internal & external audits.

 

Experience can be concurrent.
