Summary and Scope of Position:

The Head Women’s Flag Football Coach is responsible for the administration and organization of a successful women’s flag football program. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, schedule and organize daily practice sessions, travel schedules, game preparation for competition, and off-season training; devise team rules and expectations
  • Organize and administer the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA and Ursinus College policies and procedures; 
  • Hire, organize, direct, and mentor the coaching staff to carry out the goals and objectives of the program; support all athletes, coaches and staff on and off the field
  • Provide general advising, mentoring and support to student-athletes and work to ensure their academic progress and ongoing eligibility, keeping the College’s mission and values in mind;
  • Responsibly manage allocated budget;
  • Coordinate fundraising activities and alumni engagement through the Office of Advancement related to your sport;
  • Engage in regular consultation with athletic training personnel to implement appropriate risk management strategies and maximize the safety and overall wellness of student-athletes;  
  • Work collaboratively with the Compliance Officer in regards to adhering to all rules and regulations of the NCAA; 
  • Field a team that will be as competitive as possible within the guidelines set by the NCAA and Ursinus College;
  • Engage in ethical decision-making and outstanding sportsmanship; be mindful of representing Athletics in a professional/positive way

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of rules and techniques of the sport
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, delegation and planning ability
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
  • Experience with recruiting and fundraising
