POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for including but not limited to cutting and joining metals (steel and aluminum) components using MIG and/or TIG welding units. Using these skills and tools, you will be producing product at the highest quality, meeting production targets and working safely.Β

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Understand how to setup machine, change consumables, and set gases
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical or horizontal)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Material identification – thicknesses, type
  • Read tape measure to the 1/16”, dial calipers, and Vernier calipers.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use PPE (Weld hood, face shield, gloves, jacket, etc)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1-2 years of welding experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc).
  • Math skills – fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Read blueprints and perform a flat layout.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
