The Ursinus College Marketing and Communications department is looking for an energetic, spirited, and reliable student to serve as the official Bear mascot at campus events, athletic games, and community appearances. As the face (and fur) of Ursinus pride, you'll play a key role in boosting school spirit, engaging with the campus community, and creating memorable moments for students, alumni, and fans.Â

Schedule: On-call, hours vary week to week based on the event calendar; primarily evenings and weekends during athletic seasonsÂ
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ

Perform as the Bear mascot at campus events, athletic games, and community functionsÂ

Represent Ursinus College in a fun, professional, and spirited manner at all timesÂ

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications office to schedule appearances and coordinate logisticsÂ

Interact with students, alumni, families, and fans to enhance the experience at events (e.g., high-fives, photos, light dancing)Â

Help maintain and care for the mascot costume, including routine cleaning after appearancesÂ
QualificationsÂ

Current Ursinus College student in good academic standing Â

Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekendsÂ

Comfortable performing in costume and being physically active for extended periodsÂ

Able to work in warm conditions for short periods of time (mascot suit gets hot!)Â

Strong sense of school pride and a positive, team-oriented attitudeÂ

Prior mascot, theater, dance, or performance experience preferred but not requiredÂ
